So I went the entire month of June without updating and then when I tried to update the site was broken! I’ve been scolded multiple times for not updating. My apologies! Ian had his 9 month check up in June and he was 31 inches and 22 lbs. He’s tall!
I’m just going to throw a bunch of pics from June and July up here. All of them are from around the house. He’s pulling up and cruising and I fear that the walking independently will be here way too soon. He now walks behind his push toys! He waves, and claps his hands too!
Ian is 8.5 months old now and his language and mobility have just exploded over the past week or so. He says mama, dada, baba, gaga, along with a ton of other noises. He also has added a lot more inflection to his “speaking”, and it sounds like he’s carrying on a conversation with you when he talks. He’s been doing the inchworm for about a month now, but just in the past week he’s started full on crawling, and he can now go from sitting to crawling back to sitting. The cats are a little scared now!
This entry is going to be chocked full of goodness. We’ve been really working on getting Ian’s nap and sleep schedule regulated. We’re finally starting to see a turn around. It just stinks because we can’t go too far from home during the day because we can’t let any of his naps slip by, otherwise night time is just no fun!
Saturday Ian turned 7 months. I had an old friend of mine come by and do a photo shoot with Ian on Saturday. It just so happened to work out to be his 7 month birthday I wasn’t really even thinking that because I stink at planning. She got some AMAZING shots. I’m going to have a hard time choosing which to print. Ian had just woken from his nap when Tya got here and I was worried that he would be standoffish but he took to her immediately and smiled and laughed and had a grand old time. Here just a few of the awesome shots she got.
I wasn’t going to put together an Easter basket for Ian, but decided at the last minute to do one. I stopped on my way home from work on Thursday to pick up some things and then ran out yesterday and picked up a few more. Originally I didn’t spend too much, but then I took Jason with me to Target and we ended up buying more toys and spending more. Oh well, it’s his first Easter!
Ian was 6 months old on Wednesday. I don’t know where the time has gone! He had his 6 month well baby visit today. He’s doing great, and is growing fast! He weighed 19.7 pounds and was 29.5 inches long. He is in the 100% tile for his height!
Tonight I was on the floor playing with him, and he was sitting up with my help. I let go and he stayed sitting up! We threw some pillows behind him and he continued to play sitting up! So we snapped the following shots.
Jason and I are both home today with Ian because of the snow.
I had to sneak this shot because every time I would get in the room with the camera he would put his foot down. He found his feet about a week and a half ago and I love it! Now if we could just get him to play on his back when he’s on the floor! The only time he plays with his feet is in his bouncey chair or on the changing table because he goes right to his belly when he’s on the floor.
It seems like Ian has been learning new things almost everday. I’ve been pulling him up from a laying position to a sitting position to get him used to it. He loves sitting up like a big boy. We’ve done it so much that he can now sit up on his own propped up on the couch, and when we pull him up now he holds his neck solid and tries to help pull himself up. He loves his Bumbo chair now too, it’s like he sees the world in a whole new way. He’s playing with his hands more then ever before and he started sucking his thumb!!! On Thanksgiving he started trying to roll over from his back to his belly, but he had a hard time with his shoulder, he wasn’t sure what to do with it, but today he conquered the shoulder! The video below starts from him on his side, but he was on his back, I just wasn’t quick enough with the record button. He’ll be rolling everywhere soon!
