Super-Cute Sleeper

September 28th, 2008 by Tracy

Ian has been sleeping better and better.  The past two nights he has slept nearly six hours straight, awaking very hungry and with a very heavy diaper, but with rested parents.  I snapped this picture of him catching a nap on Mommy’s belly while we were watching Saturday Night Live…

Ian’s First Bath

September 27th, 2008 by Tracy

Ian’s umbilical cord fell off this week so he got his first bath! He surprised me and was really calm, and almost enjoyed it, except when I had to rinse his head off.

We also had his 2 week check up on Thursday and he’s still perfect. They had to do the second PKU test at this appointment, and I think he cried the loudest we’ve ever heard him cry it was heartbreaking. I’m so dreading vaccinations.

Daddy and Ian’s Favorite Past Time

September 20th, 2008 by Tracy

Ian doesn’t like to take a pacifier when he’s super upset, and he was getting hungry so while I warmed the bottle Jason soothed him with a finger. Do they make pacifiers shaped like fingers? When I came back upstairs I found Daddy and Ian sleeping. Shortly after his bottle he was relaxin’ in his bassinet. Ahhh isn’t that the life!

We had lots of visitors today, but I didn’t take any photos! I don’t know what I was thinking. But tomorrow we’re going to Grandmom’s house. Mommy is starting to go stir crazy, so tomorrow we’re getting out and about while Daddy goes to work, so there will be more pictures in a new setting!

Learning Ian’s Language

September 19th, 2008 by Tracy

We had our first visit to the pediatrician yesterday. Ian is half way back to his birth weight and doing well. We’ll go back next Thursday for his 2 week visit, but the doctor was impressed by his alertness. This kid follows all kinds of noises and will crane his neck to find our faces, and has been since he was just a couple of days old.

We’re slowly getting into a schedule, unfortunately Ian’s schedule includes waking up for food and a diaper change around 3 a.m. and staying awake until 5 a.m. He’s a night owl like his daddy.

Milk and Poop

September 15th, 2008 by Jason

Ian is having some problems pooping.  The main problem being that he doesn’t seem to do it enough.  He pees a lot, but very little poop.  So, Tracy is going to call the pediatrician tomorrow to make sure this isn’t a problem.  We have an appointment on Thursday, but I’m not sure we should wait so long.  Tracy has started pumping breast milk, which is weird.  The machine is fascinating, but most likely only to me.  The pictures above are of Ian and Tracy’s hand in the hospital, Ian and Grandma Edwards, and Ian looking cute and Asian.

Going Home!

September 13th, 2008 by Jason

On our way out of the hospital, we stopped and posed for a quick photo.  I couldn’t wait to get home.  Earlier, while carrying our stuff to the car, I was seeing the flashing lights of an oncoming migraine headache.  The ride home was rough for me, but we’re all OK now, after a nap and some Excedrin…

Baby Cocoon

September 11th, 2008 by Jason

Those hands belong to Tracy’s aunt, Diane.  I think Ian looks Asian in this photo.  I made a comment in reference to this while Tracy’s doctor was still in the room.  Tracy’s doctor, Dr. Lim, is a young Asian woman.  She just snickered and shot me a smile…
